GENERAL INFORMATION

PET & OWNER ADVICE

When you adopt an animal from Animal Welfare League NSW you are bringing home a new family member. This can be fun but it can also be hard work and occasionally problems can arise.

We would like to help you solve any behavioural problem you may be having with your newly adopted animal. Some of the more common problems are explained here.

Settling In

Sometimes it is difficult to fit into a new household. There may be lots of new people to meet and other animals to encounter.

House Training

Sometimes animals have to be taught the basics of housetraining or there may be other reasons why they are having "accidents".

Owning a Pet and Living within a Strata Scheme

Undoubtedly, living within a strata scheme can give rise to stresses and difficulties rarely encountered by the resident of a detached dwelling. Disagreements and disputes sometimes arise and often these are associated with the keeping of an animal.

Scaredy Cats and Petrified Pooches by Dr. Joanne Rhigetti

Most of our animal companions are relaxed, happy and generally live stress-free lives. Some pets, however, are not so laid back and, just like we humans, suffer anxieties of one form or another.

Cool Doggy Tips for a Cool Summer

Whether you’re keeping your dog indoors or out, our furry friends need extra special care during the long hot summer months.
